Third CourtThis page is part of the Christ's current applicants information for students selected for interview. It contains practical information for students who will sit a College assessment online if selected for interview.

In some subjects, students selected for interview also sit a College assessment online. You do not need to do anything to register for assessments of this kind - if relevant for candidates in your subject, we will organise your assessment automatically and email you with further information in the days after you hear that you have been selected for interview.

All College assessments are online - you will not need to travel to Cambridge.

Whilst you are waiting to find out if you are selected for interview, this page has some general advance information about online assessments, which we hope that you will find helpful if relevant in your subject.

Who will sit a College assessment?

These assessments will be sat by Christ's candidates in the following subjects who are selected for interview

> Architecture
> Asian and Middle Eastern Studies (if you have applied for a European language)
> Classics
> Design
> English
> History and Modern Languages
> Modern and Medieval Languages

Note that this page only covers things that are formally called 'college assessments'. You should check the subject information for your subject over the next few weeks for any pre-interview study or work on problems etc, that you may be asked to do immediately before interviews in your subject.

Where can I find details of the assessment?

The information available in advance can be found at

> college assessments (click on your course to go to preparation materials; check it either says 'all colleges' or Christ's is listed).
> the subject information for your course.

Most of practical detail will be sent to you by email once you have been selected for interview (please see Stage 4 for information about when you will hear if you are selected for interview).

Timing of further information

There is nothing you need to do before receiving an invitation to interview except to put the date in your calendar and ensure that you will be available if selected. See stage 4 in on the current applicants page for information about when you will hear if you have been selected for interview.

We will be sending emails to applicants selected for interview with detailed information ahead of the assessments and will confirm here when these have been sent.

We have sent emails with further info to students in the following subjects
None yet

There is also information in the subject information, if you want to check this.

Students who need access arrangements are asked to read the Disability, neurodiversity, mental health conditions and long-term health conditions page for details of the process and timing of communication for these.

Arrangements for College assessments (online)

You will see in the table above that your assessment has Arrangement A, B or C. Details of these arrangements (how to sit the assessment and submit your work afterwards) will be emailed to you if you are invited for interview.

Arrangement A people

Details of the arrangements will be sent by email, but in summary you will receive the assessment paper by logging onto a secure website at a specific time, and you will then need to upload your completed script by another specific time. You can complete the assessment at home or at school, depending on what works best for you.

Please ensure that you have the following three emails before your assessment:

1. an Admissions Assessment Information email (with attachments)
2. an email directly from Moodle with the link to the platform
3. an email directly from Moodle with your log-in details

Please check your spam/junk folders if you can't see one of the emails and email us if you don't have one of them once we have confirmed (here) that they have been sent.

Arrangement B people (online invigilation)

Details of the arrangement will be sent by email after you have been invited for interview, but in summary you will receive the assessment paper and be invigilated online whilst you work on it. At the end, you will need to email your work to the invigilator.

Arrangement C people (scheduled like, or as part of, an online interview)

Details of the arrangement will be available after you have been invited for interview, but in summary your assessment will be scheduled in the interview period - you'll have an individual online appointment (4-year Classics candidates) or the assessment will be part of one of your online interviews (3-year Classics candidates).
