Awards for Crellin and Clyde-Smith in Queen's Birthday Honours
Two alumni have been recognised in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list. Dr Adrian Crellin (m. 1973) has been awarded a CBE for Services to Radiotherapy, and Mr Julian Clyde-Smith (m. 1969) an OBE for Services to Charity and the Legal Profession.
Dr Crellin studied medicine at Christ’s before becoming a consultant Clinical Oncologist specialising in radiotherapy. Currently he is NHS England National Clinical Lead on Proton Beam Therapy. He has contributed to new studies in pancreatic and oesophageal cancer, both priorities for Cancer Research UK.
After studying law at Christ’s Mr Clyde-Smith qualified as a barrister and became a Jersey advocate, later a Crown Advocate and a Royal Court Commissioner. He was also one of the founding members of the Jersey Financial Services Commission.
