A scanned version of the card catalogue listing our substantial collection of pre-1900 printed books can be accessed below. Pre-1800 and post-1800 printed books are listed separately. Choose the appropriate time period, then browse the relevant letter subdivision for the author's surname. Anonymous works are listed under the first word of their title, excluding initial articles such as 'The' or 'A'.
When using the scanned card catalogue, please note that the chronological division has not always been strictly observed. Thus it is always worth checking both the pre- and post-1800 listings for pre-1900 printed books. There is also occasionally some overlap between letters, so, if you do not find what you are looking for, it may be worth browsing the files on either side of the letter bracket in which your item would fall.
