Professor Larry Samuelson (A. Douglas Melamed Professor of Economics, Yale and Distinguished Visiting Fellow at Christ'sLarry Samuelson until the end of the academic year 2018-19), will be giving a Lady Margaret Lecture 'Reasoning about Reasoning: Modelling the Information-Based Economy' in the Yusuf Hamied Theatre on Wednesday 24th April 2019.

Economics was traditionally concerned with the production, distribution and consumption of things.  In contrast, information now plays a central role in shaping economic activity.  This talk examines how economists reason about the role of information in our economy.  The talk will provide the requisite background, illustrating the subtleties and difficulties that arise in reasoning about reasoning, and describe recent work at the research frontier
