Events will take place in College and around the university as part of a Green week which runs from Tuesday 25 April to Tuesday 2 May 2023.

The theme of the week, which is organised by student Green Officers, is ‘Action’.

Events include:

A book launch of Five Times Faster: Rethinking the Science, Economics, and Diplomacy of Climate Change on Tuesday 25 April, 5.30pm-7.30pm in the Yusuf Hamied Lecture Theatre. The book is about under-recognised opportunities to make faster progress in countering climate change.

The launch features a conversation with author Simon Sharpe, Senior Fellow at the World Resources Institute and Laura Diaz Anadon, Professor of Climate Change Policy at the University of Cambridge. All welcome but please register to attend.

A green grad Hall for MCR members of College and up to two guests on Tuesday 25 April at 7.30pm. The menu will be vegetarian with locally-sourced ingredients. Register via the internal booking system by 2pm on Monday 24 April.

A litter pick on Christ’s Pieces at 1.30pm–2.30pm on Wednesday 26 April. People are welcome to help for as long as they are able. Please assemble at the Porters’ Lodge where all equipment will be provided.

There are other university-wide events including:

A plant-based barbeque and panel, organised by the Cambridge Zero Postgraduate Academy, where you can find out more about sustainable food systems on Thursday 27 April, 12noon. Open to all students. Please book in advance.
