Celebrating Pride Month

A seventeenth-century monument in the College Chapel to Fellows, Sir John Finch and Sir Thomas Baines has been cleaned and conserved following a generous donation.

The two men met as students at Christ’s in the 1640s and became lifelong companions.

Chaplain, Revd Dr Helen Orchard said:

“Finch and Baines were inspirational men who distinguished themselves in medicine, diplomacy and music. They were devoted to each other and, over a 36 period, spent barely two months apart.

Student Lea Milanini to present at Entente Cordiale Day Summit

Lea Milanini, a third year studying Land Economy, is one of a team of three Cambridge students selected as a finalist in the Entente Cordiale competition.

The Entente Cordiale Day Summit is an annual conference comprising a competition and summit. It is a forum for current students and future leaders from the UK and France to present their ideas and solutions to tackle the most pressing global issues to world leaders.

The Friends of the Choir recognises the valued contributions of alumni and former choir members to the ongoing activities of the Christ's College Choir.

The support of the Friends of the Choir allows students to continue to benefit from an enriching musical programme within the College, alongside the regular services at which they sing in Chapel. The Choir's ambitious activities, like embarking on tours and making recordings, are increasingly difficult to fund through earned income alone, and are made possible only through philanthropic support. Our Friends scheme has been established with the aspiration to support one new recording each year, as well as make a significant contribution to the costs of an annual tour.

In addition to receiving a regular newsletter detailing the Choir's activities, Friends of the Choir are invited to return to College and perform with the Choir at our dedicated Friends of the Choir Evensong service.

If you would like to make a regular donation to become a Friend of the Choir yourself, please select the link below and choose the 'Friends of the Choir' under the 'I would like to support...' section. The suggested minimum donation to become a Friend is £10 per month, or £120 per year.
