Many congratulations on having your place at Christ's confirmed. We are very much looking forward to welcoming you all as new students here.
We now have exam results for all of our conditional offer holders and we're sending out emails during the day today (Thurs 13 August). In the next few days we'll be working on the remaining decisions, processes and support for students who have not had their places confirmed at this stage (thank you for your patience whilst we do this - we will not have capacity to answer other queries today and tomorrow).
What happens next? For those with a 2026 entry place:
> On Monday afternoon / Tuesday, we will email you with the accommodation preferences form which you need to complete by 31 August, and a small number of other things we need to say at this stage.
> Also next week (unsure which day - last year it was Wednesday), we will be in touch with home fee status students educated in the UK who had a paragraph about the Bridging Course in your offer letters (normally on page 2 if you're looking). We will write to let you know whether or not you are in the group we would like to attend the course (this affects your arrival date). Note that you will need to wait for this information before you can complete the accommodation preferences form as you'll be asked for your arrival date.
> On Monday 7 September your freshers information will be published by the Tutorial Office. Most info will be online but some individual details may also be sent by email (emails will be sent the following week).
You can help us greatly by waiting to receive the information on 7 September - this is very comprehensive and will answer the vast majority of your practical questions.

It can be really good to talk to current students and other freshers at this stage! The JCR (Student Union) Freshers Reps are running a WhatsApp group for 2026 entry Christ's freshers. You will be given the link on Thursday or Friday. DO NOT POST THE LINK ONLINE ANYWHERE - that way you can make sure that the people in the group are genuinely Christ's 2026 entry freshers and current students!
If you'd like to be in a freshers chat group, we recommend that you use this group and keep it secure. Be careful online this week - there will be many unsecure groups that pop up and all kinds of people trying to scam you....
The Christ's freshers chat group is, of course, entirely optional - if online chat groups are not your thing, feel free to ignore it and wait to meet everyone in person!
Please email admissions@christs.cam.ac.uk for further information if you'd like to take part but cannot access it as WhatsApp is banned in your country - we hope to work out an alternative for affected freshers in the week of 17 August if possible.
Visiting Students, Students deferred from last year etc - you'll all be invited, don't worry. Do bear with us though - we have a lot to work through at the moment.
Sometimes people want to visit at this time: anyone who can get to Cambridge and would like to do a self-guided visit to the College is welcome. Please read the pages on seeing the College as an offer holder and self-guided visits carefully to ensure that you come when we are open etc.
We will send the Accommodation form (which includes the questions we need to ask you about your accommodation preferences) by email on Monday 17 or Tuesday 18 August. You have until 31 August to complete the survey (online) and all responses received by that date will be considered equally (i.e. no rush - it's not first come, first served, and it's not a problem if you're away). More info on the form itself, when you get it. Students with home fee status and educated in the UK will need to wait to receive the email about the Bridging Course next week (to find out whether you've been selected for it or not) before completing the accommodation form, as this affects your arrival date.

Visa information (if relevant)
For students who need a visa, the International Students Team will be sending some CAS documents the end of this week and a lot next week (they hope to have most CAS documents sent by Friday 21 August). Please help them to work efficiently by not emailing them. They are aware they you are waiting but if they take time to answer questions that slows things down. Many thanks!
Application for instrumental awards is open from 13 August and the deadline for application will be 23 September at 9am UK time. See the Instrumental Awards page.

My College Family really helped (like every first year I got two college parents from second year, along with two or three other freshers who were therefore my siblings!). It was so reassuring to have someone to ask those questions which you know are small but you still worry about.
