This page is part of the Christ's applicants from Scotland section.
In Environment, Law and Economics, you combine economics and law with aspects of the environment, business, finance and resource management. It's definitiely worth a look if you're interested in any of Economics, Law or Environment.
We define our offers individually, but for students in the scottish system, the minimum offer for Environment, Law and Economics is A1, A2, A2 in three Advanced Highers.
| This course is changing it's name from Land Economy (2026 entry) to Environment, Law and Economics (2027 entry). The course structure, contents, and admissions process will all remain the same. See the news article here and the FAQ's page. If you are reading about the course in early 2026, please do not be confused as the Cambridge admissions website information and other College websites may not update until later in the year with the new course name. |
Advice for choosing Advanced Higher subjects
Although there are no required Advanced Higher subjects, taking Economics, Geography and Mathematics would be helpful for Environment, Law and Economics.
Other Advanced Higher choices that you could take include Classical Studies, Computing Science, English, History, language, Mathematics of Mechanics, Modern Studies, Music, Religious, Moral and Philosophical Studies, a science subject (Biology, Chemistry or Physics), Sociology or Statistics.
Note that we don't expect you to have studied Law or Economics before.
We recommend attending our regular webinar on choosing subjects if you can, and of course, please feel free to send us an email if you have questions about your choices.
- What if my Advanced Higher options are limited?
- What about the subjects not mentioned above?
- What about National 5's and Highers?
