We welcome applicants from Nicaragua and hope that this page will be helpful.

Entry requirements (we encourage you to email us)

We advise students from Nicaragua to contact us for advice on the qualifications needed to make an application. It is not possible to apply with school-leaving qualifications, as the Nicaragua Bachillerato is not considered on its own to be suitable preparation for a competitive application to the University of Cambridge. You will need to do some further study if you wish to apply for an undergraduate degree.

Suitable further study may include A levels, the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB Schools in Nicaragua), five Advanced Placements (US qualifications) or the first year of an undergraduate degree, but you will need to make sure that the university course you take provides suitable preparation for your chosen course at Cambridge. Please, therefore, send us an email for advice.

If English is not your first language then any offer made is likely to include English language requirements. See which English language qualifications we accept on our English language requirements page.

Most courses also require you to take an Admissions Assessment. If the course you are applying for requires you to take a 'pre-interview' assessment then note that you must make arrangements to take this and be registered in advance for the assessment. If your course requires an 'at-interview' assessment then there is no registration required as we will arrange this for you if you are invited for interview.
