Kaif
Kaif on the day of his graduation

Kaif studied Mathematics at Christ's:

I applied to read maths at Christ’s due to a combination of factors including the strength of its mathematical teaching and, of course, its pampering centrality in town.

Looking back, I think I’ve gained in many different ways from my time there. Mathematically, apart from the close-knit and colourful cohort (which provided as much room for learning together as for comic commiserations), the solid supervision organisation and the presence of strong teaching fellows in both pure and applied maths gave a balanced worldview as well as the assurance that whichever way one swayed, there will always be a good college support system.

I am currently a PhD student at Copenhagen University working on algebraic topology, and I can safely say that in this I owe in no small measure to the stimulating conversations and supervisions at Christ’s.

Lastly, some of my fondest memories in college are my looking forward to the unlimited sides during dinner at upper hall after a hard day’s work - this has always been my bragging point to fellow Malaysians from other colleges!

Daniel studied Chemical Engineering via Engineering at Christ's, and now works for Morgan Stanley:

I have been working on the technology equity capital markets desk across the Menlo Park, Singapore and Hong Kong offices for the last eight years (almost).

One of the great things about Christ’s is its very central location! I was very fortunate to have a group of mentors (supervisors, peers, seniors) who would always make themselves available whenever I have questions, both academically and personally. With a home that is close to other major colleges, I was able to expand my network outside of my core Christ’s community to spend more time with friends elsewhere. Finally, the squash courts were perfect for me.

Kenneith is from Selangor and studied Medicine at Christ's

Christ’s (student population) was the perfect size. It was small enough not to feel lost having left home; big enough to have a diverse social circle.
