College level basketball

There's a college league for basketball players who want to play at a sociable level. You don't need to have played basketball before or played basketball recently - the college league is mixed ability and low pressure. The format depends on player numbers in Colleges - recently there has been player development in the first term (with coaching provided by university-level players) and then a 3x3 or 5x5 colleges' league in the second term.

If a college doesn't have enough players to make a team, it is possible to combine with another college, so everybody who wants to should be able to play at College level.

University level basketball

The Cambridge University Basketball Clubs have multiple teams and play in the British Universities and Colleges Sports league as well as  regional leagues. As with other sports there are annual Varsity Matches against Oxford University.

For more information see the CU Basketball Club website and CU Women's Basketball Club website. If you're interested in playing basketball the best thing to do is to go and chat with students at the CU Basketball stand at the unviersity Freshers' Fair.
