Christ’s College wishes to recruit an intern to join the team in the Admissions Office during the undergraduate Admissions Round. Working full time hours (36.25 hours per week) for 9 weeks, commencing from Monday 19 October 2026 (until Friday 18 December 2026), this represents a practical opportunity to gain useful experience of working in College Admissions and Outreach.
The salary is £13.45 per hour (Real Living Wage) and there is an entitlement to a free meal in College on each full working day.
The work will involve working with the Admissions team to prepare for and administer key elements of the undergraduate Admissions Round. Work will include processing and updating digital applications, associated notes, correspondence and spreadsheet records, supporting in the organisation and preparation of paperwork for use in selection at Christ’s and at the intercollegiate Pool, and communicating with applicants and referees.
There may also be some opportunities for assisting in the preparation of outreach activities and events, although this is not the primary purpose of the internship.
Qualities required:
- Good IT skills and knowledge of the Microsoft suite.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Good organisation, administrative and time management skills.
- The ability to work independently and manage competing and sometimes repetitive demands.
- The ability to work in a co-operative and supportive manner.
- The ability to show care and sensitivity in dealing with students and student data.
