The University’s Student Registry produces all degree transcripts and certificates for full-time Cambridge degrees.
Degree Certificates
All students are issued with one free paper copy of their degree certificate upon graduation. This will be either at the ceremony (if you attend in person) or posted to you (if you graduated in absence).
Replacement paper certificates are available for purchase via the University’s Online Store. Requests for degree certificates and official transcripts must be made by the former student themselves. Requests received by a third party will not be actioned.
Degree certificates are available online for all alumni who have graduated since March 2020. More information can be found here.
Official Transcripts
The Student Registry produces paper copies of degree certificates and transcripts for full-time Cambridge degrees. One free paper copy of your academic transcript will normally be posted to you within 6-8 weeks following congregation.
Replacement paper transcripts are available via the University online store.
If you matriculated in 1980 or later, online copies of your official transcript can be ordered through a secure electronic document system called Digitary CORE.
Requests for degree certificates and official transcripts must be made by the former student themselves. Requests received by a third party will not be actioned.
Degree Verification
All verifications of full-time Cambridge degrees are dealt with via Digitary Core, allowing you to decide who you share your personal data with. Please see the degree verification page on the Student Registry’s website for further information.
If you are an employer seeking information on a student's current and/or completed educational attainments then you need to ask them to request their verification document via their student or alumni University account.
Once the document has been requested it will be available to the student within 5 working days at which point they will be able to share this securely via Parchment. Further information concerning security and legality of academic verification issued this way is available on the Parchment website.
The University of Cambridge does not provide a legalization or Apostille service. To legalise documents please refer to the Government website.
