Dr Jani is a senior Consultant Head Neck Surgeon, having worked at Cambridge University Hospital for over twenty five years. Since his retirement from his NHS practice he has taken on a role of lecturing, demonstrating and supervising medical students. He continues to remain active in research supporting clinical colleagues.

Dr Jani has published extensively in various aspects of Otolaryngology and Head and Surgery. His main research interests are in the fields of HPV related head and neck cancers, thyroid cancers, the manifestations of Granulomatosis with polyangiitis (GPA) and Churg Strauss Syndrome.

He has received many prizes and awards over the years including seven 'Excellent Teaching Awards' from the Clinical Medical School, University of Cambridge.
