We hope that you will take the opportunity to return and reconnect with Christ's and Cambridge.

Visiting College

We encourage you to come back to explore the College and it's beautiful gardens, grounds and chapel. Alumni are also welcome to attend the Choral Evensong services held in the College Chapel - these occur during term, on Thursdays at 6.45pm and on Sundays at 6pm. See the Chapel pages for more details.

Opening Times:

College Grounds, 9:00am - 4:00pm, 7 days a week

Fellows' Garden, 9:00am - 4:00pm, Monday to Friday

Please note that these details are subject to change at any time; in particular, the College or the Fellows' Garden are sometimes closed for functions and other events. If you are planning a visit you can email us at alumni@christs.cam.ac.uk or call us on 01223766710 to check whether all areas are accessible.

If you would like to do a self-guided tour of the College, we have a tour document available for use.

Staying in College

During term time, two guest rooms (C3 and C5) may be booked by members, subject to availability. Both rooms are for single occupancy and are simply furnished without ensuite facilities. Guests may stay a maximum of three nights. Bookings may be made via the Accommodation Office.

During the vacation, guest room bookings may be made online via the Christ's College Hospitality website or by contacting the Accommodation Office, who will be happy to answer any questions.

College rooms are available at a 10% discount to alumni. In order to obtain this discount, please contact the Development Office alumni@christs.cam.ac.uk who will supply you with the discount code. Due to the nature of College buildings, we are unable to accept children under the age of 18 years to stay in College.

Alternative Options

Unfortunately, due to the limited nature of college accommodation, we are unable to offer accommodation all year round and at all alumni events. However, there are a number of convenient options nearby that you may wish to use instead:

Parking in College

We have a limited number of parking spaces available in College, with no daytime or overnight parking without prior permission from the Head Porter, porters.lodge@christs.cam.ac.uk. On weekends, parking is available in the Hobson Street car park on a first-come, first-served basis. Once you arrive, please use the intercom to connect to the Porters’ Lodge, who will grant access. For blue badge holders and those with limited mobility, parking can be reserved at the weekend, please contact alumni@christs.cam.ac.uk and we will organise that for you.

You can find out more about how to access the car park and car parking alternatives here.

Marriages and Wedding Blessings

Since the building is a College chapel, rather than a parish church, any wedding requires a Special Licence from the Archbishop of Canterbury (rather than the reading of banns). To obtain this the bride and/or groom should be current students, fellows or staff, or alumni. For all marriage enquiries, please contact the chaplain@christs.cam.ac.uk, and they can discuss your plans with you.

It is not currently possible to hold weddings of same sex couples in the College Chapel; however, if you would like to organise a Service of Blessing following a Civil Marriage or Civil Partnership, please do contact the Chaplain, who will happily discuss options with you.

The College can also host wedding breakfasts and evening events. Please contact the Conference team, conference@christs.cam.ac.uk to discuss possible dates.

CAMCard

The CAMCard is your official alumni card and is free to all alumni who have matriculated and studied on an approved course at Cambridge.

As well as access to Colleges, the CAMCard provides you with a range of benefits, including a special discount on membership at the University Sports Centre. Find out how to get your CAMCard and start enjoying your unique benefits.
