Christ’s will formally admit eight new Fellows as the academic year begins.
Professor Claire Colomb holds a Chair in the Department of Land Economy. Her research is interdisciplinary and focuses on Planning, Public Policy and Urban Studies.
Professor Mariana Rossi is Unilever Professor of Molecular Sciences in the Department of Chemistry. Her research combines first-principles electronic structure theory, path-integral techniques in quantum mechanics, and machine learning to simulate complex molecular systems with quantum accuracy at realistic scales.
Professor Alvin Jackson is the inaugural Childers Professor of Irish History at Cambridge. He has worked extensively in the fields of modern Irish and British history, and particularly in the history of home rule, union and unionism in Ireland, the UK and beyond.
Dr Hollie Booth, a conservation scientist and practitioner, joins as a Senior Research Fellow in the Darwin-Hamied Centre for Biodiversity. She will work closely with research partners and NGOs in Indonesia, and collaborate across disciplines to understand the barriers to pro-environmental behaviour.
Dr Anthony Ng is an Academic Clinical Lecturer in Intensive Care Medicine and a supervisor at Christ's since 2013. His research interest is in sepsis and chronic critical illness.
Dr Jason Silvestri is the Lady Wallis Budge Junior Research Fellow in Egyptology at Christ’s. His work sits at the intersections of political anthropology, Amazigh studies, archaeology, and Egyptology. It examines the ways in which the poorly understood Ancient Libyan groups interacted with Egyptian society in the broader 2nd and 1st millennia BCE.
Dr Nicholas Kilford is a Fellow in Law. His research and teaching interests are in public law – the law regulating the power of the state, the conduct of its institutions, and its interactions with private actors and individuals.
Dr Niklas Plaetzer is a Junior Research Fellow. His research brings together political theory and the history of political thought, with particular interests in democratic theory, republicanism, international order, and social movements.
A Fellow is a senior member of the College who undertakes academic duties and/or is a College Officer. Most classes of Fellows are members of Governing Body and some are elected to the College Council. Fellows are admitted in a formal ceremony, presided over by the Master.
