By request we have made available the presentation which our Director of Admissions gave to parents at one of our recent Open Days.
There is a great deal of useful information for parents and supporters on the University website.
As the parent or carer of someone who will be applying to study at Cambridge University, it is very important that your son or daughter should be available to attend interviews taking place sometime during the last two weeks of November and the first two or three weeks of December. We aim to interview most UK applicants; we find that the majority of those applying have achieved and are predicted to achieve top academic grades, therefore interviews are a very important part of the selection process.
If your daugher or son is invited to attend interviews, please consider whether s/he would prefer to travel to Cambridge alone. If, by mutual agreement, you decide to accompany him or her, please allow him/her time and space to concentrate on the interviews. We have found from experience that accompanying relatives and friends can be distracting for the interviewee and for other candidates, therefore we ask that parents and friends should leave the interviewee at the Porters' Lodge with an arrangement to meet up again after all the interviews are over.
