The fourth Women's Networking Event will be held on Thursday 10 May at Aviva, St Helen’s, 1 Undershaft, London EC3P 3DQ (by kind invitation of Lianne Frost (m. 1985)).

We are delighted to be joined by two Christ’s alumnae who, as part of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, have been posted worldwide and have seen how trade negotiations, business expansion and policy discussions have a role to play in improving gender diversity on a local and global scale.  This is an opportunity for Christ’s alumnae to connect and network in an engaging setting.

Julia Sutherland has been the Deputy Head of Counter Terrorism at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office since 2016, prior to this she was Deputy Head of Mission, British High Commission Kingston.  Julia joined the Diplomatic Service in 1995, and has previously worked at the British Embassy in Beijing and the High Commission in Singapore. Her assignments in the UK have included periods working on China issues and on EU policy, and a stint as Private Secretary to the Minister for Trade. She has also spent time on secondment to the Home Office, where she worked on Immigration issues.

Priya Guha worked in the Diplomatic Service for 20 years before taking Special Leave in October 2016 to take up a private sector role as Ecosystem General Manager, leading the new UK operations of San Francisco HQ-ed scale-up technology campus RocketSpace.  Most recently she was the first woman to hold the position of British Consul-General in San Francisco. Prior to San Francisco, she spent four years at the British High Commission in India, where she was First Secretary for Political and Bilateral Affairs, leading on Indian politics and the UK-India bilateral relationship.  Priya was a specialist in EU issues, including a previous posting leading on EU Foreign Policy at the British Embassy in Madrid, Spain.

The cost of attending is £30, including drinks and bowl food. There will be a directory of those attending the event circulated in advance, so please include your current business details with your RSVP.
