This event is for alumni of Christ's College.

***We have now sold out of standard tickets, which include refreshments and access to the Clore and Trafalgar Rooms before the show and during the interval. However, we do have a limited number of tickets available that include an Upper Circle seat for the performance and entry to the panel discussion after the show. These tickets are available at the reduced price of £65. Refreshments can of course still be purchased at the public bar!***

Please mark 15 October in your diaries for a Christ’s ‘first’ – an evening at the opera!

With thanks to English National Opera’s Artistic Director, Annilese Miskimmon (m. 1992), we will enjoy a performance of ENO’s acclaimed production of Carmen followed by a post-performance discussion with a panel of experts from the opera world, all with links to Christ's.

Joining Annilese will be Christ's Fellow and Music Faculty Chair, Professor David Trippett; theatre, opera and film director, Natalie Abrahami; and renowned expert on 19th-century opera and Chair of the Harvard Music Department, Professor Carolyn Abbate. Carolyn will be joining Christ's as a Distinguished Visiting Fellow for the 2025-26 academic year, and we are delighted to welcome her expertise and insight to the Christ’s community.

Tickets for the evening cost £85 (£65 for tickets without refreshments or access to our private spaces) and include a seat in the Upper Circle at a discounted price and attendance at the post-show the panel discussion. You are welcome to bring one guest (it may be possible to bring additional guests in the event of tickets still being available after the initial booking period has closed - please contact us in the first instance).
