Jess is a Teaching Associate at the Cambridge Centre for Teaching and Learning and Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Through her work, Jess empowers postgraduate research students by developing their professional skills, knowledge, and competence to contribute meaningfully to their research field.

Jess' most recent research project, funded by Enhancing Research Culture, explored doctoral students' perceptions of researcher development to ensure the central postgraduate researcher development programme remains responsive to the evolving doctoral student profile.

Jess holds a PhD in Educational, Cognitive, and Sport & Exercise Psychology from Loughborough University, a Master's in Sport & Exercise Psychology, and a BSc in Psychology from the University of Birmingham.
