Student fees and finance

Cambridge has one of the most extensive bursary schemes in the UK and it is policy that no Home student should be deterred from coming to Cambridge (or have to leave in mid-course) through financial considerations.  Substantial support is also available for EU and international students. Therefore, don't let the costs put you off from applying ... you could miss out on some great opportunities!

Whichever university you choose there are two costs that you'll need to consider:

Accommodation

The cost of accommodation depends on the type and style of your room (size, en suite etc). The great things about student accommodation at Cambridge are that:

  • your College provides accommodation for three, sometimes four years so you don't have to pay commercial rents or large deposits
  • you don't (in most cases) have to pay rent during the vacations unless you decide to stay in Cambridge

As a rough guide, the rent for a 30-week year for most single study bedrooms is as follows:

  • £79-£120 per week without en suite bathroom
  • £105-£130 per week with en suite
  • Here is a list of room rents for the current year
