Rosa read English at Jesus College, and was a member of Emmanuel College for her PhD. Between her undergraduate and graduate work, she spent several years in Japan on a Daiwa Scholarship. She completed an MSc in Modern Japanese Studies at the University of Oxford in 2015. Her PhD looked at the use of language to choreograph movement from the 1950s–1980s, focussing on works by Hijikata Tatsumi, Samuel Beckett, and Yvonne Rainer. She currently teaches Paper 1 (Practical Criticism and Critical Practice) for Parts I & II, Paper 7a and 7b (English Literature and its Contexts, 1830–1945; 1870–present) for Part I, and contributes to teaching for Part II Papers 2 (Tragedy) and 9 (Lyric).
