Pre-recorded talk
Our Director of Admissions, Dr Emily Tomlinson, has recorded two talks for you to watch before the open day. This is to maximise your opportunity to ask questions during the admissions sessions and also to help you get more out of the other sessions. The 13 February live admission session with Dr Tomlinson (see timetable below) will be mainly Q&A, answering your follow-up questions from the presentation.
Please watch both of these sessions before the Q&A, and bring your questions to the live webinar!
Live sessions online
The table below shows the times of the live sessions. We realise that you will not all be available for every session (see recordings) and we realise that some of you may have already attended a session or two as part of our regular webinar series.
To get the most out of the online open day, we recommend that you watch the pre-recorded talks in advance of all live sessions and write down any questions that come to mind.

Recordings
We will give open day participants time-limited access to a set of session recordings (except for subject sessions, which are only available live). The link to recordings will be sent by email shortly after the open day (EMAIL 4 - see updates) and the recordings will then be available until the end of 1 March. We hope that this will enable you to watch anything you wanted to see if the time of the session was inconvenient in your case.
Information for parents & guardians
You will see in the list of live sessions that parents and guardians (parents is shorthand - any supporters) are welcome in most live events, but we would like the subject meetings to be for prospective students only (these are indicated in the table). Thank you for your help with this!
At 17:30 (UK time) on Tuesday 13 February there is an opportunity to join the Q&A with our Director of Admissions so that you can ask questions. If you would like to take part, please ensure that you watch the pre-recorded talks BEFORE joining this session, as the Q&A is for further questions following the talk. In order to make the session as helpful as possible, we are hoping that the questions will be further questions, following on from watching the films (which should already answer quite a lot of initial questions). Many thanks.
If your child gave us an email address for you on the booking request form, you will be sent "EMAIL 3" with joining details in the week beginning 29 January (and in batches for later bookings). If your child did not provide an email address or you would like to receive more than this, please simply ask your child to forward emails 2 and 4 to you (you can see the updates when they have been sent, if you want to check). Note that we are not able to add email addresses to the parents list (aiming to keep this simple). If your child is not organised with their email (!) now is a great time to have a chat about this, as they will need to be reading their email and keeping track of important emails received during the application process.
If you are reading this and have not yet booked a place
Bookings for this event have now closed, however you may like to register interest for the July Cambridge Open Days or our September College Open Day. Please see the open days page.
If you would like to visit in person for the College tour in the afternoon of Wed 14 February
All prospective students for the open day have been allocated a tour slot (and can bring up to 2 parents or supporters). Tours are expected to last approximately 40-45 minutes and are led by a current student. The tour meeting point and directions to it have been provided in EMAIL 2 (it'll be EMAIL 3 for parents).
The tour is optional, and there will be a virtual tour opportunity included in the online sessions, as well as other opportunities to visit Christ's at another time.
There is no parking available at Christ's. Anyone planning to drive to Cambridge, we recommend to use the various Park and Rides around Cambridge - parking in Cambridge is very expensive! We are also only a 25 minute walk from the Cambridge train station (main - not Cambridge North which is 45 minutes!). All details and links for P&R, parking and getting to Christ's can be found here.
Please remember to go to the location provided in the email, NOT the main gate on St Andrew's Street.
During the tour itself, if you are visiting with a supporter, our plan is to put you and your supporter in different tour groups. This does not affect your tour start times, it is just simply that we will send you in a different group around college as your supporter (e.g. a parent, sibling, friend). This gives you the opportunity to engage with more students, and have some slightly different tours - each one is as unique as our students!
All tours will end in the Lloyd Room (Third Court), so you will be able to meet back up with the other person at the end of your tour - it is only the 40-45 minutes of the tour for which you are apart. Feedback on this has been very positive in previous open day events, so please don't worry - it's a great chance to each view our college for yourself and you can catch up / compare notes afterwards.
