Cambridge is a collegiate university, based on the principle that living in a small community of students and teachers is central to the university experience. Undergraduate students are therefore admitted to Cambridge University through the Colleges. In making your application you can select one of the Colleges directly or else you can submit an Open Application and allow the University to choose a College on your behalf. The University aims to admit the most promising applicants irrespective of which college they have chosen, and there are effective systems in place by which applicants are considered more widely than just by their first-choice college. In these pages we aim to tell you what is special about Christ's as a place to live and study.
The closing date for the receipt of applications is earlier than at many UK universities: in most subjects 15 October, instead of 15 January. If you are a UK or EU applicant, you will only need to submit a UCAS application naming Cambridge as one of your choices. As happens at many other universities, after your UCAS application has been received you will be asked to provide additional information through an on-line Supplementary Application Questionnaire (SAQ).
The closing date for applicants wishing to start an undergraduate course in October 2013 (or October 2014 if applying for deferred entry) will be October 15th 2012. We regret it will not be possible to consider applications received after the closing date.
