Memorial Service for Charles Blackham
On Saturday 7 November, at 3.00pm there will be a service of remembrance and thanksgiving for the life of Charles Blackham (matriculated 2007), who died on 10 September after a short battle with cancer. Charles' funeral was held in Winchester College Chapel on 22 September but the service in Christ's College Chapel will be a chance for his many friends from University and further afield to gather together and to give thanks for all that he was and for the joy and happiness he brought to so many people. There will be a cup of tea served afterwards.
Charles was an outstanding Natural Scientist and as well as being Chairman of the Christ's College Music Society, he captained the Christ's College team on University Challenge. The latest episode which featured the Christ's team, including Charles was broadcast on Monday 26 October, having been recorded before his death.
