The Old Library at Christ’s College was founded by Lady Margaret Beaufort who began the tradition of donating books.

Today, it holds over 50,000 rare manuscripts and printed books covering a wide variety of languages, historical periods and subject areas.

For more than 500 years, these precious collections have helped to inspire and mould some of the greatest minds that have ever lived.

Only by providing for their long-term preservation can we ensure that they continue to enthuse and inform the countless generations to come.

If you would like to assist in conserving these splendid collections, why not become a Friend of the Old Library or Sponsor a Book in vital need of repair?
