Professor Reynolds and Russell Barnes have joined forces to create the film NIXON IN THE DEN (BBC4, Tuesday 8 June at 9pm and repeats).

In 1972 President Richard Nixon reshaped Cold War politics through pioneering summits in Beijing and Moscow. Two years later, enmired by Watergate, he resigned the presidency in total disgrace. In this 'intimate portrait of a most unintimate leader' David Reynolds shows how the traits of character that took Nixon to the top also laid him low.

Professor Reynolds was recently shortlisted for a 2010 Orwell Prize for his Radio 4 documentary series 'America, Empire of Liberty'.
