Pumpkin Carving Competition 2012

Judged by the Senior Tutor, Librarian with the MCR and JCR Presidents, there were over 30 entries, all of which showed much imagination and humour.

Angus and Verity used a cauliflower to represent a brain and made all wonder if they were indeed 'Medscis'.  Second Prize went to Eleanor Mestel, Joe Kitchen, Richard Kish and Abigail Walkington for their imaginative carving of the College's Great Gate.  Third prize was awarded to Dara Hamill and Michael Allsopp whose 'pumpkin eating baby pumpkin' was most disturbing!

There were several Highly Commended awards, namely Matt Woosnam (maintenance department) with his amusing 'green face' pumpkin, the 'Y' Staircase Elite and Felicity Gallop.

The   competition was very close and the judges found it extremely hard to choose the successful entries, so many congratulations to everyone who took part.

The 'Guess the Weight' Competition for the enormous Pumpkin sitting outside the Master's Lodge has been won by Helen Willows, the Chief Clerk.  She had the nearest guess of 51.24 kg, the pumpkin weighted 51.00 kg.  Congratulations Helen.  The competition raised £45 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
