Professor John Burrow, MA, DPhil, FRHistS, FBA

1935-2009

John Burrow (m. 1954) studied history at Christ's and became one of Britain's leading intellectual historians, with a truly global reputation.  He will be known to many members of Christ's for his chapter 'The Age of Reform' in the College history, Christ's: A Cambridge College over Five Centuries (2005).

A memorial service will be held at Bailliol College, Oxford (where Professor Burrow was an Emeritus Fellow from 2000 until his death in 2009) on Saturday 13th February at 2.30pm in the College Chapel, followed by a reception in Hall afterwards.
