Dr Duncan Bell, Director of Studies in Politics, Psychology & Sociology, and University Senior Lecturer in the Department of Politics and International Studies has been awarded one of this year's Philip Leverhulme Prizes for his work on the history of imperial ideologies in 19th and 20th century Britain.
These prestigious Prizes are awarded to outstanding scholars who have made a substantial and recognised contribution to their particular field of study, recognised at an international level, and where the expectation is that their greatest achievement is yet to come.
Other recipients with links to Christ's include Dr Michael Squire (KCL), a former Junior Research Fellow, for his work on the intersection between Graeco-Roman visual and literary cultures, Dr Sujit Sivasundaram (m. 1994) for his work on modern imperial and world history from 1750-1850, especially Asia and the Pacific and Dr Sadiah Qureshi (m. 1997) (Birmingham), for her work on the modern history of race, empire and science.
