The Master, Professor Frank Kelly, has been awarded  the 2008 John von Neumann Theory Prize of the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences, for his profound contributions to the mathematical theory of stochastic networks, and for applications of these theories to the understanding, performance evaluation, and design of telecommunication networks.
