The Emerging Research Seminar Series is an interdisciplinary research forum where graduate students, fellows and outside academics present their research to an interested and friendly college audience.
It allows students and fellows to learn about their friends’ and colleagues’ research in greater depth, and explore topics outside their own area of speciality. Speakers gain experience in communicating their findings to a general, rather than specialist audience, requiring clarity and accessibility. The interdisciplinary nature of these talks provokes discussion, insight and exploration of related disciplines that may shed new light on students’ own research.
Inaugurated in Lent 2011, this seminar series convenes four times annually: each term and during the summer.
