The College provides access to the DS-Desktop PWF in a number of locations. The main ones are listed below. You can make use of the facilities from your own computer to access your files (or use as a backup device for your files), to remotely login to Linux or to use the printers.
This computer room is fitted out with 8 PC's running Windows XP. All the computers are part of the Desktop Service Public Workstation Facility (PWF). To use these computers you will need to login using your CRSID (1st part of your e-mail address) and your PWF password. When you have finished with the computer please remember to log out.
There are two PC's dedicated for the self issue of books to be taken out of the Library and, If you are unsure on how to use these terminals please ask a member of the Library staff.
There is one PC in the Reading Room that is configured as a client for the University Library online catalogue system called Newton. This is the main online catalogue for the libraries of the University, including Cambridge University Library, its dependent libraries, most faculty, departmental and college libraries
There are 8 general purpose PC's in the the Library. These PC's form part of the PWF Managed Cluster and operate in an identical fashion to those in 4/10.
There are 8 network ports in the Reading Room (l/h side) that are freely available. Please note; these ports are configured so that only registered student computers can use them. The Library also has wireless provision and students are recommended to configure their laptops for the eduroam service.
