Microsoft provide a number of free applications and software promotions to the academic community whether you are a student, fellow or staff member. Their Education website will have a list of the offers that are currently available.

One offer which may be of particular interest to both current and incoming students is Office 365 University which is a 4 year subscription costing £60 that allows the software to be used on two computers (PC or Mac) as well as certain mobile devices. The subscriptions gives full rights to all upgrades during the four years as well as 20GB of Skydrive cloud storage and 60 minutes of Skype credit per month.

There are other software suppliers who can sell these educational offers (and offers from other software providers) and it is recommended you do a web search when you are thinking about purchasing anything. If you are still unsure and do need advice please contact IT Services for assistance.
