Chaplaincy

Making Contact with the Chaplain

The College Chaplain is available for everyone in College. You can make contact by email or by calling to his rooms (A1, second court) during his office hours.  The Chaplain's duties demand complete confidentiality.  He is in College to discuss any personal matter, whether it be religious or not and no prior assumptions are made.

The Chapel is also on facebook (search for Christ's College Chapel) and Twitter (www.twitter.com/chapel1510)

Why do we have a Chaplain in College?

1. To listen to you;

2. To offer a sympathetic, calming and non-judgemental ear;

3. To help examine difficult situations or help you with problems in College;

4. To be a completely confidential source of support and advice where appropriate.

5. To advise and guide you spiritually if you need it - he will happily discuss spiritual matters with members of any faith group, not just Anglicans or even Christians. But he knows his limits, and will gladly put you in touch with experts from your own tradition.

6. To pray for you and your friends and family.

7. To provide religious teaching and spiritual nurture to members of College who seek this and to prepare members of College for Confirmation.

8. To offer sacramental ministry to anyone who requests it: Baptism, Eucharist, Confession, Ministry of Healing.

9. To ensure the smooth running of the chapel and chapel choir and all related chapel activities.

10. To provide for worship in College chapel.

(not to mention:

11. To provide tea, coffee, teacakes, etc. on a regular basis.)
