The library operates a self-issue system allowing books to be borrowed at any time. Instructions are displayed beside the borrowing terminals, located at the entrance to the library. You might also like to look at our online training video how to borrow books.
Undergraduates and graduates may borrow a maximum of fifteen items at any one time. Books and audio-visual materials are issued for two weeks and may be renewed up to three times if not reserved by other readers.
Renewals can be made via the library catalogue. Further advice can also be found in our online training video.
Reference books (indicated by a label on the spine) and journals may not be borrowed.
Books with a location marked ‘Annexe’ are borrowable, but students must request them from a member of library staff.
Fines are charged for the late return of books. A fine of 25p per book per day will be charged. If the book has been recalled by another user, the fine is 50p per day.
Books borrowed over each University vacation may be retained until the beginning of the next Full Term. Relevant dates are displayed in the Library.
