Students will be expected to be mindful of the proximity of neighbours both within their staircase or hostel and in the wider community. Particular attention is drawn to students resident in outlying properties that are in a non-academic environment. The College takes a particularly serious view of student misbehaviour which inconveniences other members of the College or its neighbours.
The rules on playing of music/ other activites in study bedrooms are contained in the publication ˜Christ's College Information for Students", copies of which may be obtained from the Admissions Office (Y4)
Rubbish and litter should not be dropped or left lying around in College. Rubbish should not be allowed to accumulate on staircases as this constitutes a hazard in the event of fire and also invariably increases the risk of fire.
Residents of hostels which are provided with City Council green and black wheelie bins and other recycling containers are responsible for ensuring that the bins are used properly, and that they are put out for emptying on the appropriate day of the week. Green/ blue and black wheelie bins are emptied fortnightly on alternate weeks. Wheelie bins must not be overfilled, such that the lid will not close. Overfilled bins will not be emptied by the City Council's contractor. See also Section 8.
Cigarette ends and other smoking related litter should not be dropped in the courts or outside entrances to staircases.
