I pursued my PhD with Professor Sir Alan Fersht at the MRC Centre for Protein Engineering, Cambridge. My research was focused on the negative regulation of p53, a tumour-suppressor protein, and led to several publications. I am excited by the potential for developing novel anti-cancer drugs based on advancing our understanding of the structure of p53 and its complexes. My current project aims to better define the strategies by which certain negative regulators exert control over the cell cycle.
