In November, Christ's College Visual Art Society launched 'Turning Leaves', a competition for postcard-sized (A6) ¾ pieces; any media accepted (paint, collage, pencil, photography, poetry, limericks, jokes, prose). The competition received an impressive range of entries, showcasing the many artistic talents of College members, and the winners were announced at a special exhibition and prize giving on December 2nd in the Visual Arts Centre.
Two £50 prizes were awarded, judged by: Ruth Padel, Christ’s College Poet in Residence and Issam Kourbaj, Christ’s College Artist in Residence: the winners were Gillian Craig (College nurse) and James Crosby (m. 2008). James and Gillian's entries have been printed as a limited-edition run of postcards and will be sold in the Porter’s Lodge.
