DISCIPLINARY APPEALS PROCEDURE
1. The disciplinary rules and procedures which form part of your contract of employment incorporate the right to lodge an appeal, in respect of any disciplinary action taken against you. Any appeal must first be presented in writing to the Bursar, or other College Officer if appropriate, within seven days of disciplinary action being taken against you.
2. An appeal against a formal warning should give details of why you believe that the penalty imposed is too severe, inappropriate or unfair in the circumstances.
3. The disciplinary appeal procedure will, normally, be conducted by a College Officer who has not previously been involved in the case, so that an independent decision into the severity and appropriateness of the disciplinary action can be made.
4. If you are appealing on the grounds that you have not committed the offence then your appeal may take the form of a complete re-hearing and reappraisal of all matters so that the College Officer conducting the appeal can make an independent decision before deciding to grant or refuse the appeal.
