Sackler Non-Stipendiary Research Fellowship
Applications are invited for a Sackler and Cambridge Foundation Non-Stipendiary Research Fellowship,tenable for at least two years, but no more than four years, from not later than 1 October 2013.
Applicants for this position, funded by the Sackler and Cambridge Foundations as a tribute to Lord Broers, should be post-doctoral researchers working in Chemistry or Applied Mathematics (interpreted to include Theoretical Physics and Statistics) in the University of Cambridge, who do not already hold a Fellowship or have a close association at another college. It is intended to give such researchers the opportunity to participate in collegiate life, to the mutual benefit of the individual and the College. The Fellowship is tenable for a period of four years and is not renewable. The holder must remain in the employment of the University as a post-doctoral researcher. Preference may be given to candidates who would be willing to undertake up to 4 hours per week of College teaching of undergraduates during University Terms (this corresponds to 80 hours a year).
Payment for teaching would be made at the normal College rates. The Fellow will be entitled to seven free meals per week, taken in College.
A Letter of Application (there are no forms) should be sent to masters-assistant@christs.cam.ac.uk to arrive no later than noon on Thursday 10 January 2013. This should include a curriculum vitae with details of qualifications, publications and experience, details of proposed research and the names and addresses of two persons who have agreed to act as academic referees. Candidates must arrange for their referees to send their references direct to masters-assistant@christs.cam.ac.uk so that references are received by the closing date of noon on Thursday 10 January 2013. (It is not necessary for referees to write a new reference: a copy of a full reference sent in connection with the applicant’s postdoctoral appointment will suffice.) Short-listed candidates may be invited for interview, expected to be held on or about Tuesday 5 February 2013.
