Rev'd Dr Bernard Randall
The College Chaplain has rooms in Second Court, in A1. He is generally around College 9-5, Monday to Friday, so feel free to drop in and see him. To make ecrtain of seeing him come at the open office hours, which are posted on the chapel notice board by the Porters' Lodge each week, or you can make an appointment by sending an email.
The Chaplain's duties demand complete confidentiality. He is in College to discuss any personal matter, whether it be religious or not and no prior assumptions are made. He is willing to help you examine difficult situations, guide you through work crises, career choices, emotional struggles or relationship difficulties as well as help you celebrate happy and joyous times.
The Chaplain’s role is two-fold: liturgical and pastoral. He oversees the running of the College chapel and organises all of the services together with the Director of Music and some student members of the College community.
But equally, the Chaplain is responsible for the pastoral care and welfare of all members of College (students, staff, fellows, Master), their families and friends. The Chaplain works very closely with the JCR welfare officer and executive and the MCR to ensure that all the students’ welfare is adequately attended to.
