Steering Committee

The Steering Committe is responsible for taking decisions on spending from the capital account used for boat and equipment purchases. It also provides guidance to the Captain of Boats on other matters.

The Steering Committee was formed in 1990 to assist the Club with strategic and financial direction by involving and including Old Members of the Club, and Senior Members of the College. This broadly coincided with the formation of the “Friends” of the Club, so, inter alia, the Steering Committee, with its alumni membership, also assumed responsibility for supervising the spending of Friends’ contributions (from the “Capital” fund). Initially, the Committee was chaired by the Captain of Boats, but the 2006 constitution changed this to an Old Member or a senior Member of the College, while the Club’s Administrative Committee continued to be chaired by the Captain. |
