The crew is planned as follows, although, for reasons of fitness, health, failure of courage and/or (in)sanity, rowing order and actual members may change by the time that we put on the water for the first time as a crew on the Friday morning. The planned Fairbairn's crew of "Christ's Crustaceans" all rowed for various Christ's boats in the period around 1965 to 1968 and most have not rowed or raced since.
Due to the widespread current location of members (including York, Cheltenham and the USA), there will have been no opportunity for any crew training, prior to the actual race. However, 5 members of this boat took part in the '65 Reunion paddle on June 9th 2007, and were thereby foolishly encouraged to try the Fairbairn's Cup! The aim is to complete the course in good style with a reasonable time, reflecting the lack of team practice and an average age of around 62. We expect to finish uninjured, exhausted and satisfied.
