Christ's College's 4th annual Telephone Campaign took place from 19 March to 3 April 2011. All gifts make a real difference to the College and its current members, helping to maintain Christ's position as a close-knit centre of excellence both academically and across a vast spectrum of extra-curricular activities. We would like to thank all those who took the time to talk to one of our students, and particularly those who made a gift. By the end of the calling period we had received over £190,000 in cash and pledges and we are hopeful that we will reach our target of £200,000 with help from those alumni who said they would support the initiative but who did not specify an amount.
Long before the start of the campaign fortnight, a team of 16 students were selected by the Development Office and employed by the College, and they aimed to speak to around 900 Alumni.
The Telephone Campaigns are a very good way of keeping Old Members informed about the latest developments from College, re-engaging those who have lost touch, and providing an opportunity for Alumni to make a gift over the phone securely by credit card or paperless Direct Debit. There were many interesting and enjoyable conversations and the students benefitted from talking to people who had been at Christ's and were now making their way in the world.
