Our 5th annual Telephone Campaign takes place from 17 March to 1 April inclusive.
We have recruited sixteen current students to work on the Campaign. They are Dara, Jiaxi, Janice, Michael, David, Agathe, Gloria, Ellie, Kerri-Anne, Heulwen, Molly, Frances, Megan, Stephanie, Rose and Charlotte. They are looking forward to talking to alumni about Christ's and will be seeking support for the College.
This year, thanks to the generosity of Mr Alfred Harrison (m. 1958), every pound donated in support of our students will be worth double to Christ's. Mr Harrison is matching donations pound for pound. We hope alumni who receive a call from a current student will take the opportunity to talk to them and will consider making a gift.
Christ's College is committed to providing a first-rate education for our students and opportunities for research that has global reach. Competing internationally to attract the brightest and most able students, regardless of family or financial background, is crucial to our future and reputation.
Each year more than a third of our undergraduates and graduate students receive financial support from the College to enable them to study at Cambridge, at a cost to the College of more than £600,000 last year.
We are grateful to all those who support Christ's College.
Students' Experiences of the Telephone Campaign
"At Christ's I feel a part of a strong community and this is something I particularly value. I feel that strong links with Alumni is vital to the maintenance of this community feeling. Indeed, one or two of my good friends, with whom I play cricket during the summer, had actually left Christ's before I began and we only met as a result of the regular Old Boys matches that the various sports clubs organise. I see the telephone campaign as an excellent way to ensure the establishment and maintenance of these strong links with old members, both on behalf of the College but perhaps also on a personal level... I think I would find it interesting, stimulating, and enjoyable."

"I chatted to some great people, some of whom wrote to me afterwards, and some of whom I’ve since had the chance to meet."
Charlotte Cornish m. 2007
"It was good to have a job in a place which was be useful for my academic studies (easy access to the English Faculty library and the UL). I also liked the chance to give something back to College and try to improve the facilities further for future students."
