Cambridge-Hamied Visiting Lecture Scheme

The Cambridge-Hamied Visiting Lecture Scheme has been established to stimulate exchange of ideas and academic collaboration between leading Indian institutions and the University of Cambridge. The scheme is named after Dr Yusuf Hamied (m 1954).

This new programme will support up to 3 distinguished Cambridge scholars each year to visit India with a view to enhancing existing relationships, developing contacts, research collaborations and potential student exchanges. As well as meeting with their Indian counterparts in key host institutions, participants will be able to visit organisations and research centres with which they share an interest.

This scheme will also support up to 3 Indian scholars each year to visit Cambridge building on existing academic contacts at the University of Cambridge. This two-way exchange programme will enhance the experience of all participants, spread goodwill and mutually benefit the University of Cambridge and India.

The Master has recently returned from India where he visited three cities as the inaugural Cambridge-Hamied Visiting Lecturer.
