In 2007 the two College rowing associations, Friends of Christ's College Boat Club and Blades were merged under the name of Blades. Main goals for the new association were to bring together and maintain contact with CCBC Alumni as well as to generate support for the Boat Club to help them continue to flourish and to produce world-class rowers.
All ex-rowers automatically become members of this Association, and are invited to annual Alumni events including the May Bumps Picnic at Osier Holt in Fen Ditton and another reception throughout the year. If you have not been receiving this information, and you think your name may be missing from the list of members (held in the Development Office), please do let us know. The Blades contact in the Development Office is Sarah Proudfoot.
Financial support from Alumni of the Boat Club provides the much-needed extra income for the Boat Club, enabling it to buy and maintain equipment, provide good coaching and enter more races. To download the Blades subscription form to make a regular donation to the Boat Club, please click here. Benefits exclusive to those making regular donations to the Boat Club include daily updates from the CCBC Captains during the Bumps and e-newsletters.
